In business since 2007Let us turn your city into a Gem City.
Gem City Recycling is a minority-owned and operated small business that specialises in the removal and transportation of all universal wastes.
Our goal is to protect the environment and to help generators of these spent products avoid fines for improper disposal of these items.
Gem City Recycling
We do business in the cities where our friends and families live, so we care about keeping it clean and safe for future generations.
Dayton has been the Gem City a long time.
The name is the promise. Dayton has been the Gem City since long before any of us, and the line Melvin puts on his own posts is "let us turn your city into a Gem City."
Small, and deliberately so.
This is a small operation on purpose. The owner is reachable on the phone, the same operation that packs your material is the one that transports it, and nothing gets handed off to somebody you never spoke to.
Call and ask before you have a problem, rather than after. We have knowledgeable staff to help with all your environmental recycling questions.
Every line above carries a public source. The list is short because it is only the part that can be shown.
Five streams, five different reasons.
There is no testimonial on this page. What there is instead is the reason each pile is regulated, which is the part a hauler either knows or does not.
- 01Lamps and bulbsMercury. It is the reason lamps are regulated and the reason they cannot go in the trash.
- 02BallastsPCBs. Pre-1979 ballasts are handled on a different track, and mixing them is the expensive mistake.
- 03Computers and electronicsData and heavy metals. Old equipment carries both off your site.
- 04BatteriesFire, and heavy metals. A lithium pack in a trash compactor is a real ignition source.
- 05ChemicalsIt is the category most likely to be handled wrong, because nobody is sure what it is.
Everything above is checkable. The credentials carry public sources, the accepted lists say exactly what goes in the box, and the paperwork is named rather than described.
Ask for the rest on the phone. A twenty minute call about your own building will tell you more than a page of quotes would.
Call before you have a problem.
Ask what we take, what the paperwork looks like, or whether the thing in the corner is even ours to move.
