Home / What we take
Five streamsEverything your building cannot legally bin.
Universal waste is not one category, it is five, and the handling rules are different for each. Here is what we collect, what it covers, and why each one is regulated.
Lamps and bulbs
Got old light bulbs or lamps? We help process all types, shapes, and sizes. From CFLs to HIDs.
Fluorescent tubes, CFLs, HIDs, mercury vapour, metal halide. They break, they contain mercury, and a broken tube in a dumpster is a reportable problem. We bring DOT-approved boxes sized for the tubes you actually have, pack them, and haul them to a registered facility.
Mercury. It is the reason lamps are regulated and the reason they cannot go in the trash.
Ballasts
Sometimes responsible for a flickering fluorescent or failing HID lamp. We process magnetic, digital/electronic & the ones already attached to the lamp itself.
If your building was wired before 1979, some of your ballasts almost certainly contain PCBs, and PCB ballasts carry their own disposal rules and their own penalties. We sort them, pack them separately, and document them separately.
PCBs. Pre-1979 ballasts are handled on a different track, and mixing them is the expensive mistake.
Computers and electronics
Don't be e-wasteful. If it's no longer working or too old, we're happy to help you responsibly recycle & dispose of any electronic device.
Desktops, laptops, servers, monitors, printers, phones, network gear. Old IT is two problems at once: a disposal problem and a data problem. We take the hardware and we document the chain of custody so you can show where it went.
Data and heavy metals. Old equipment carries both off your site.
Batteries
Do not belong in the trash. They contain hazardous materials and need a safe home after losing their charge.
Sealed lead acid, lithium ion, nickel cadmium, alkaline, UPS and emergency-light packs. Lithium in particular is a fire risk in a compactor, which is why haulers increasingly refuse it and why it piles up in back rooms.
Fire, and heavy metals. A lithium pack in a trash compactor is a real ignition source.
Chemicals
Dangerous to people and the earth. Let us help you protect both.
Cleaners, solvents, aerosols, maintenance chemicals and other universal waste that accumulated in a cabinet nobody wants to open. Tell us what the labels say, or send a photo, and we will tell you straight whether it is something we take.
It is the category most likely to be handled wrong, because nobody is sure what it is.
If you are not sure what it is, ask before you move it.
Some material needs a licensed hazardous-waste route rather than the universal-waste route, and the wrong call is expensive. Send a photo of the label. We will tell you straight whether it is ours, and where it should go if it is not.
One pickup clears the whole corner.
Rough counts are fine. You get a straight answer on what we take.
